BOARD MEETING

Charlies Eatery

October 18, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 12:03 pm by League Coordinator Mike Ewen.

ROLL CALL

Board Members: Mike Ewen, Chuck Brand, Jim Goodman, John Bowron, Bill Sutter, Gary Thomas, Gary Oldenburg, Ernie Hain, Dave Zemke and Bobette Pronk.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:  Report received.

TREASURER’S REPORT:Ernie Hain reported a balance of $7,496.79 in the RMSS checking account. There is $1,043.87 in the designated account and in the non-designated fund there is $3,051.53 . Report received.

SAFETY & RULES REPORT

Bill Sutter had nothing to report except we will be using the small ball for women in the first session next summer and only using them for games, not practices. His committee is staying the same.

SPECIAL ASSISTANT REPORT

Ben Borgen was absent.

PUBLIC RELATIONS REPORT:

Gary Thomas and Chuck Brand reported they are waiting for the magnetic signs for cars to come.

WEBSITE REPORT:

Joe Koerner was absent.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. The season ending picnic cost $313.58 thanks to Thrivent contribution by Gary and Pam Oldenburg for $250.00. Also thanks to Deb Warnke and Sally Podein for cooking up the hamburger and everyone else who helped.

2. Bobette reported that the fundraiser for RYFSA was a huge success and everything went well. Thanks to the volunteeers that helped out.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. There was discussion on attendance numbers this year. Mike expressed thanks to John Bowron for keeping the records on attendance.

2. Jersey and board player magnets were discussed as to who keeps them. Tabled to next month for more managers input.

3. Discussion on new hats for players, was tabled until next month.

4. Jim Goodman discussed dome ball. Hours and dates have been turned into RCTC. Cannot get tournament in March but will be having the one in January. Bill Beaupre and Ben Borgen will be talking to RCTC about fees. Jim talked about dates, etc.

5. There was some discussion about purchasing our own PA system. Tabled until the next month. Ernie will put in the proposed budget and will present at the next meeting.

6. Dave Zemke reported that 36 people participated in the end of the year golf tournament.

Meeting adjourned at 1:27 pm.
