Rochester MN Senior Dome Softball League

Rochester MN Senior Dome Softball is a winter/early spring league open to men and women players. Men must be at least 50 years old, and women players must be at least 40 years old during the playing season. Our focus is on fun, fitness and fellowship.

Games are played on Monday and Wednesday mornings at the Rochester Regional Stadium/Dome at RCTC in southeast Rochester. Mondays start with batting practice at 8:00 AM, followed by a pickup game/scrimmage at 9:30 AM. Wednesdays begin with batting practice at 7:45 AM, followed by league games that begin at 8:30 AM. Start times or session lengths are occasionally modified slightly, due to weather, player numbers or dome availability. The Wednesday batting practice and game times will be included on the Schedule page.

The Wednesday league consists of four drafted teams. Each team will be playing one - nine inning game each Wednesday. Players register individually, then are drafted and assigned to teams for each session. This minimizes the chance that a single team dominates the other teams. It also accounts for player availability based upon new players, injuries, vacations, and work responsibilities, in addition to promoting fellowship as the rosters change each session.

The 2023-2024 season will run from the end of November when the dome is set up, until it is taken down in mid-April, and is separated into two – ten game sessions. The dates for each session will be reflected in the Schedule page. The News page will record dome happenings and general news items.

Senior dome softball has a pay-as-you-play fee system with all fees collected paying for the rental of the Regional Stadium/Dome. Cost will be $6.00/day for each player. Special package offers will be available for those players wanting to purchase multiple playing days with a typical package being pay for nine days and get the tenth day free. Players who are 80+ years old in 2023 play for $3.00/day.

The Registration page has the Registration/Waiver form and details on options to submit your form. There will be Registration/Waiver forms available at the check-in table in the dome also. Remember, women must be at least 40 by the end of 2023, and men must be at least 50.

RMSS Summer Softball

During the spring, summer and early fall, outdoor softball is available at McQuillan fields in southeast Rochester. The season runs from the first week in May through the last week of September.
